As the author, I enabled  someone out of love and compassion and she died an early death.  Her choice of using drugs and/or alcohol caused her to give up a good husband and two precious sons. The chemicals changed her personality and she created a problem with everyone in her life.  She was beautiful and smart but it was wasted on her.  I have some other short stories of people I know that got seduced by drugs/alcohol or both and the chemicals ruined the potential of a successful life.
